Make Reflections Guest House your Osoyoos stop on the Mountain & Vineyard Circle Drive (www.hellobc.com) as you travel southern British Columbia. You will also find an abundance of orchards and vineyards surrounding Osoyoos Lake. These vineyards offer tastings, and some of the specialty orchards offer wine tours.
Osoyoos offers two fine golf courses. Sonora Dunes Golf Club is nestled among rolling hills and lush vineyards, surrounded by the breathtaking natural beauty of the desert. Osoyoos Golf & Country Club is perched just above Reflections Guest House, with vistas of mountains, Osoyoos Lake, the desert, and the valley. This 27-hole championship course brings together ideal desert climate and picturesque Okanagan surroundings, offering visitors a unique golfing experience.
Explore Canada's only “arid” desert and the 100 rare plants and over 300 rare invertebrates that reside in this unique and endangered ecological region. The Desert Centre, located 9 km north of Osoyoos, is an interactive education and research facility that offers insight into this sensitive ecosystem.
Bird watcher enthusiasts will marvel at the treasures to be found in our lakes and ponds, as well as in nearby deserts and surrounding national parks. Some of the wildlife you may glimpse includes yellow-bellied marmots, pygmy horned toads, painted turtles, various lizards, white-throated swifts, nighthawks and calliope hummingbirds.
Journey to Anarchist Mountain Lookout for a bird's-eye view of the lake and the Similkameen and Okanagan Valleys. Follow the gravel road from Osoyoos to the summit of Mt. Kobau, one of the tallest peaks around – a great spot for stargazing and hiking, with views that are nothing short of spectacular.
West of Osoyoos on Highway 3 is Klikuk, the Spotted Lake, containing one of the world's highest concentrations of minerals, including epsom salts, calcium, magnesium and many other trace minerals. The healing mud and waters were once used to alleviate aches and pains. In summer the water evaporates and crystallizes, making the white-ringed spots visible. Another must-see area is the Osoyoos Lake, the warmest freshwater lake in Canada.
This region is blessed with a variety of biking and running paths. The International Bicycling and Hiking Society has developed a lovely little 20-km river ride between Oliver and Osoyoos along the scenic Okanagan River.
The Reflections Guest House offers a hot tub for guests to relax in at their leisure.
